OLD SETTLERS DAY PARADE

The old settlers day association and COLUMBIA CITY AMERICAN LEGION POST 98.
PARADE THEME: "GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS."
You are cordially invited to participate in the Old Settlers Parade, on JUNE 26th 2010. The parade will start at 4:00 PM FROM THE Columbia City. There is no cost for entry into the parade. Entrants must complete, sign and date the attached entry form. Forms are also available for download www.americanlegionpost98.com. Mail the completed form to, American Legion post 98, 430W Business 30. Columbia City, in. 46725. The deadline for entry receipt is JUNE 18th 2010. The parade line-up will be in THE POST & MAIL the week of the parade. Each entrant will have a colored section assignment. Inform check-in personnel at the WHITE FLAG marked entrance to the school of your assigned color section.
Parade line-up will begin at the Columbia City High School. All entries must check-in with personnel at the white flag at the school Saturday June 26th 2010, between the hours 0f 1:00pm and 3:00 pm.
PARADE RULES:
a. Entries consisting of person(s) under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Entries providing free items must walk along curb and hand the items to the crowd.
To promote spectator safety, do not throw items from moving units.
b. Performing units should observe a 1-minute time limit in front of the judge's reviewing stand. Entries should maintain reasonable speed to eliminate large gaps between entries.
Commercial entries should limit their entry to one vehicle. Entries should be kept to a reasonable length; please no semi trucks.
Animal entries must provide their own "Pooper Scoopers."
Prize listings: Award presentation immediately following the parade at The American Legion. Unclaimed awards are mailed to the party named on the entry form.

Floats-Noncommercial: 1st $50.00, 2nd $30.00, 3rd $20.00.
High School Bands: 1st $100.00. 2nd $75.00, 3rd $50.00.
Mounted Units(Shrine,4-H,etc.): 1st $50.00, 2nd $30.00, 3rd $20.00.
Novelty Cars, Trucks & Tractors (1985 to Present): 1st $50.00, 2nd $30.00, 3rd $20.00.
