To enhance the well-being of America’s veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.
Less than 1% of Americans have served in the Global War on Terror. To make a difference, for the veteran community, we have to stick together. We have to fight our battles together. We have to be Legion.
Membership Requirements
To be eligible for membership in The American Legion, you must have:
- served in the United States Armed Forces on active duty since December 7, 1941 or;
- received a DD-214 with an honorable discharge or discharge under honorable conditions or;
- be still on Active Duty.
